Our Growing Practice: We believe that growing high quality foods require high quality soil; therefore, the ingredients we use for growing are of higher standards compared to the conventional systems. All our plants are grown in full organic soil, GMO FREE, and are not treated with any chemicals or pesticide. Our plants are organically grown and packed in Florida USA.

Guava is native to Southern Mexico. In the United States, it is grown mostly in Florida, Hawaii, Southern California, and parts of Texas. With protection, it can be grown in USDA Zones 8b and 9.

Guava is round to pear-shaped fruit commonly 2 to 3 inches long. Guava can be green, yellow, red, purple, or black-skinned. The flesh can be white, yellow, coral, or red. Ripe guava has sweet, moist flesh that is highly scented. Each fruit has several small, hard, but edible seeds.

PINK GUAVA PLANT CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Light: Guava need full sun to thrive. If you live in a sweltering area, partial shade is advisable. Make sure your trees get plenty of sunshine.
  • Soil: Guava prefer a pH of 4.5-7. They’ll withstand most soil types but definitely do better with a good helping of rich, well-rotted organic matter. Guava likes well-drained soil – they’ll take waterlogged soil for a short time before wilting and dying off.
  • Potting and repotting: If you have limited space or don’t want a huge tree, you can try growing guava in containers. Initially, plant them in a pot about 12 inches and each year replant in a slightly bigger container. Use good quality potting mix and make sure your pot has good drainage.
  • Spacing: If you plant more than one guava tree, give about 15-25 feet of spacing between each one. Most guava trees can grow tall, and some have a wide-reaching growth habit.
  • Water: After planting, water your growing guava trees every other day and then once a week for the first year. Guava appreciate a deep watering but allow the soil to dry before you water again.
  • Temperature and Humidity: Guava can be grown in both humid and dry climates; the optimal temperature for growing guava is 68°to 82°. Guava can be grown in USDA zones 9 to 12. In zones 9a and 8b, guava should be protected from frost or chilly weather. Guava will be damaged by frost; it may recover from exposure to temperatures as low as 29°F but will likely lose all of its leaves.
  • Fertilizer: Guava are heavy feeders, so fertilize them once every month or so. Use a well-balanced fertilizer or one with a slightly higher nitrogen reading.
